This past weekend saw further progress in the gradual return of competitive surfing in Canada. The East Coast has been firing throughout this hurricane season and those lucky enough to be in the Atlantic Bubble having been taking full advantage. The Surfing Association of Nova Scotia (SANS) hosted their annual Fall Classic Shortboard Competition under ideal conditions at Lawrencetown Point.
Blue skies and open clean faces set the stage for top level surfing across all categories. Jacob Taljaard was on hand at the competition to document the event for Surf the Greats and we are stoked to share his photos below. The Surfing Association of Nova Scotia is all about building an inclusive, fun and respectful surf community to support recreational and amateur surfing—and this competition was a prime example.
